Aspectus is a Finnish venture development and innovation company. We build new businesses and brands by combining technology, commercial thinking, international experience and strong local partnerships.

Punda Kali is still in its pre-commercial phase, but the brand is designed to grow beyond bikes into selected gear, apparel and coffee - all the important things connected to riding and outdoor culture.
Trailside is a platform and partner ecosystem. Punda Kali is East Africa born e-mountainbike developed by Aspectus+ and its friends.
Trailside is free to work with established bike brands and partners in all markets, while Punda Kali focuses on East African markets.
Alongside its venture-building work, Aspectus brings extensive experience in international development, social justice, health and rehabilitation, and international business.
Our experience includes project and programme design, project and portfolio management, monitoring, evaluation and learning, organisational development, disability inclusion and locally led development.
Our work is grounded in equity, local ownership and practical results.

Kare has extensive experience in international programme leadership, innovation and partnership development across Africa, Asia and Europe. His expertise includes responsible AI, digital health and rehabilitation, international business development and the creation of new service and business models. He has worked widely with different public institutions, universities, businesses and local partners to turn ideas into practical solutions.
Raised in East Africa, Kare is also a committed weekend wanderer, with a particular gift for ending up with a bike in places most people do not go - and then finding the long way back. His journeys, from Kilimanjaro to remote trails across East Africa, have helped shape the thinking behind Trailside and Punda Kali.
